New Normal

The COVID-19 has brought about human beings to experience unhappiness, depressed, social anxiety, and grief due to protocols implemented by the government. Due to stay-at-home orders, it’s undeniably that everyone missed to do usual things  before pandemic such as social gatherings like parties, community feast, and other celebrations that people used to experienced. There are unexpected happenings in our lives that we may not to be happy about the changes but we find a way to move on. Likewise this pandemic, we’re not definitely happy about the existence of the corona virus but we need to accept it and things eventually get back to what might be considered as “New Normal”.

People must accept and adapt the new way of living in order to survive in the society. The unexpected arrival of the Corona Virus -19, has brought negative impact and unwelcome changes from our daily routines, including the country’s educational learning system, limited capacity of industrial companies, and our transportations. Adapting the reality of having more strict rules added in the community to control numbers of positive cases which people are obliged to follow minimum health standards because in line with the new normal is having more consequences you might face if you’re against the authorities. After two years having repeated lockdowns, we gradually feel the essence of returning to normal but how does it look like? As we begin to experience the back to normal in churches, schools, business, parks, beaches and more, it’s expected that thing we used to have before won’t be the same. Having a feeling of anxiety every time when you’re heading to somewhere, carrying a hand sanitizer, wearing a face mask, and mindfully distance yourself from someone who might have the virus because anytime it can transmit from time to time. Obviously, social distancing, wearing a face mask, and carrying a hand sanitizer are all part in our new normal routines. A huge adjustment between learners and teachers having this unexpected arrival of virus because the educational learning system turned to blended learning which students are the centers of their learning process. Working from home is being recommended by most companies to ensure the lives of their employees. Businesses like malls, restaurants, salons, fitness gym, even beaches tourist spots are all putting new measures in place to enhance hygiene and provide space between human being. This actively illustrates that every place nowadays provide a strategically hand sanitizing station and digital temperature before you enter their places. It’s new things that we need to accept and adapt because the only constant thing in this world is change.

They key to embracing the new normal we have today is our ability to keep moving forward with courage to face the new environment and hope amidst difficulties. In times of uncertainties, we can also make decisions that we surely regret after the result but we definitely learned from it. In conclusion, adapting and embracing the new normal with positive mind will make a difference that would contribute returning to normal.
